MKM is the UK’s largest independent builder’s merchants, with 42 branches across England and Scotland. They aim to be a ‘one stop shop’ for building, timber and plumbing supplies, and stock a wide range of products from the industry’s leading manufacturers – all at competitive prices. We initially provided MKM with consultancy to support their move from bricks and mortar to online trading, which due to the nature of the business was complex and problematic. Our team subsequently then designed and delivered a highly sophisticated ecommerce solution on EPiServer which integrated with the company’s existing infrastructure enabling MKM to trade 24/7, improving service levels for customers and providing in-store support.

In 2012 we engaged Mike and his team to develop an ecommerce offering that reflected the unique needs of our business. The process involved visioning with key stake holders and its development put us ahead of the competition providing features that were ground-breaking with differential pricing across branches, support tools and overcoming backend legacy issues.  The importance of this online channel has proven increasingly commercial valuable and most importantly enables our customers to access our support 24×7.
